Restore individual files with Time Machine on Mac

If you have been using time machine to backup your files for some time as I had and suddenly you want to recover some files there is a simple way of finding the file or files you need.
Using finder navigate to the file or folder you would like to recover, then click the Time Machine icon running in the menu bar (it looks like a clock with an arrow running anti clockwise) or launch it from your Applications folder.
Once time machine has launched you will be taken directly to the file or folder you selected, using the bar on the right hand side you can now scroll backwards through your backups until you find the exact version of the file you require.
